AHAA Announces a Distinguished Roster of Marketing Experts to Form Part of Its New Advisory Board

MCLEAN, Va., April 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — AHAA: The Voice of Hispanic Marketing announces the formation and appointment of members to its new Advisory Board, which has been created to provide thought leadership and insights representative of the broad Hispanic marketing spectrum and help AHAA’s board of directors set its long-term strategy. This forms part of AHAA’s recent shift in mission to expand its focus and advocacy beyond Hispanic advertising to include all marketing disciplines, media and research entities working in the Hispanic market.

Members are comprised of Hispanic marketing leaders from such diverse industry backgrounds as media, production, consulting, music, direct response, promotions, research, public relations, and advertising.

The newly appointed AHAA Advisory Board members are:

· Mark Addicks, SVP, CMO, General Mills

As Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, Mark Addicks has oversight responsibilities for the company’s global brand-building strategy, including its advertising, promotions, public relations, design, packaging, online, licensing and multicultural initiatives.

· Eduardo Caballero, Founder & CEO, Caballero Radio & Television

This Hispanic broadcasting pioneer owns and operates, Caballero TV & Cables Sales, which is the nation’s first, only and largest unwired network of independent stations aimed at the Hispanic market. He was also the first Hispanic inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame.

· Clara Carneiro, VP Multicultural, Arbitron

Clara Carneiro is VP of Marketing at Arbitron Inc. She is responsible for developing programs to highlight the value of radio for advertisers and agencies in partnership with the radio community.  This role expands upon the previous responsibilities for Multicultural Business Affairs where the focus has been to develop and execute strategies that cultivate and strengthen Arbitron’s multicultural business and community relationships.

· Sabrina Crow, Senior VP and Managing Director, Client Services, Nielsen

Ms. Sabrina Crow is the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Client Services of the Nielsen Company, in addition to serving as the Global Client Business Partner for Univision. Previously, she led local television business for Nielsen. Prior to her joining the company, she held a variety of executive positions in the media and publishing industries at companies including The Miami Herald, El Nuevo Herald and Freedom Communications. Most notably, she is the former owner of Latin Trade, a media conglomerate company which published magazines, developed online content, and housed a research and event division. Ms. Crow has been honored for her media leadership by Women in International Trade and South Florida Media and is the past president of the International Advertising Association, Miami.

· Gilbert Davila, President  & CEO, Davila Multicultural Insights

Gilbert Davila is the President and CEO of Davila Multicultural Insights (DMI), which he founded in 2010 after having spent twenty five years working as a marketing executive and multicultural market expert with Blue Chip companies including: Procter & Gamble, Coca Cola USA, Sears, Roebuck and Company, and The Walt Disney Company, where he served as the Vice President of Multicultural Marketing and Global Diversity. Today, as the head of DMI, Davila and his team provide consulting services and business strategies to corporations interested in reaching the ever-growing multicultural marketplace.

· Mike Fernandez, CCO, Cargill

Reporting directly to CEO Greg Page, Mike Fernandez is the most senior corporate affairs official at Cargill, where he oversees global government relations, internal and external communications, corporate responsibility, knowledge management and corporate brand management.  Mike also serves as co-chair of the Institute of Public Relations, and earlier in his career worked on Capitol Hill as press secretary to former US Senator Fritz Hollings.

· Rudy Ferrer, President & COO, Delta Media Inc.

Rudy currently serves as President & COO of Delta Media Inc. In January 1995, he joined Hal W Brown III and opened Delta Media, Inc.’s office in Miami. He was also named Marketing Director for the West Coast at Shelter Advertising of America, Inc. in 1990. When Shelter Advertising of America, Inc. was purchased by Patrick Media Group, he was promoted to Director of Hispanic Marketing.

· Lino Garcia, General Manager, ESPN Deportes

Lino manages ESPN Deportes on a day-to-day basis in all areas of operation, including programming, sales and marketing. Prior to joining ESPN in 2004, Lino accumulated fifteen years of experience in the cable industry where he primarily focused his efforts on marketing to the Hispanic community. His pivotal role with ESPN has been recognized by Sports Illustrated as one of the 101 most influential minorities in sports. He most recently was selected as one of CableFAX’s 50 Most Influential Minorities in Cable for three consecutive years (2008-10), and one of the 2011’s most Powerful and Influential Latinos in the Entertainment Industry by The Imagen Foundation.

· Jacqueline Hernandez, COO, Telemundo

Jacqueline Hernandez was named chief operating officer of Telemundo Media in April 2008. Hernandez oversees all domestic revenue, leads and unifies all sales, marketing and domestic growth platforms for the consolidated Telemundo network and stations group, as well as the digital, cable, integrated marketing and branded entertainment divisions. In addition, she oversees Telemundo’s cable youth network, mun2, including programming, operations, revenue and strategy. Hernandez also leads Telemundo Media’s Digital and Emerging Business team, which drives the network’s presence on digital, mobile and social platforms

David Lawenda is President of Advertising Sales and Marketing at Univision Communications Inc. He oversees advertising sales and marketing for the Company’s suite of media offerings, including Univision Network, TeleFutura Network, Univision Cable Networks, which includes Galavision and a suite of new cable networks -De Pelicula, De Pelicula Clasico, Bandamax, Ritmoson, Telehit and Clasico TV; Univision Television Group, Univision Radio and Univision Interactive Media.

· Mark Lopez, Head of U.S. Hispanic Audience, Google

Mark Lopez is a digital media executive and is currently Head of U.S. Hispanic Audience at Google. Mark, who has co-chaired the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s multicultural committee for the last two-and-a-half years, worked with ComScore to help create the Hispanic Focus category. He was also publisher of multicultural audiences at AOL from 2004 to 2007.

· Monica Lozano, CEO, Impremedia

Ms. Monica Lozano is the Chief Executive at ImpreMedia, LLC and is also owner of the Los  Angeles daily, LaOpinion. InJanuary 2004, Ms. Lozano became Publisher and Chief Executive Officer at La Opinion, assuming full responsibility for the country’s largest Spanish language daily newspaper.  Ms. Lozano oversaw the launch of new advertising products such as La Opinion Direct as well as the introduction of new targeted sections, and the licensing of La Opinion content outside of the southern California region.

Carlos Orta is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR), a national 501(c) (3) organization established in 1986 and based in Washington, DC.
